Job Description & Qualifications
- Incumbents in this position must exhibit competency in working with patients of various age groups to promote and facilitate guest relations through interactions with patients, visitors, physicians and employees, which demonstrates Mission, Vision and Values.
- Answer telephone, screen and direct/relay calls.
- Provide organizational information to callers as needed.
- Greet persons entering organization in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Provide assistance and direction to patients, customers, vendors and employees at main entrances.
- Provide (walking) escort assistance to persons as needed.
- Handle queries from the public and customers.
- Perform general administrative and clerical support duties as needed.
- Receive and sort deliveries as needed.
- Provides age specific assistance/services to patients and families of toddlers through geriatrics as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Full time 40 hours per week.
- Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.
- This is the night shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Must be available to train for at least 90 days onsite.
- High School Equivalent / GED required.
- 1+ years related experience as secretary/ receptionist required.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with good problem solving ability.
- Notable client service, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills.
- Able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.).
