Job Description & Qualifications
This role will be responsible for organizing, tracking and managing multi-million dollar equipment inventory for Adult Acute Care Nursing Services at UH Cleveland Medical Center. This position will work with management, physicians, service leaders, nursing staff, vendors and other key stakeholders to ensure equipment is in good working order, available, accessible and well-maintained.
What You Will Do
- Maintains a list of current inventory of available equipment necessary to run the unit/specialty.
- Coordinate with Unit Secretaries to order equipment and supplies approved by department leadership.
- All equipment will be cleaned per Infection Prevention Standards and per MDS standards of UH. Additional focus will be controlling the equipment location within the unit.
- Responsible for keeping equipment areas neat and orderly in order to permit the accurate tracking of equipment and the identification and maintenance of equipment. Work with unit leadership to develop and implement practices to reduce obsolete or unwanted equipment inventory.
- Responsible for maintaining communication with designated service line managers in order to ensure timely and accurate flow of information regarding broken equipment, repairs and other equipment problems and concerns.
- Partners with leadership to manage database of all equipment with purchase date, end of life date and maintenance records. Utilize database for tracking equipment, maintenance, and coordination of repairs.
- This person is knowledgeable of other departments and may be asked to perform tasks such as lab courier
- Maintains in-depth working knowledge of systems required for unit operations (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and regulatory requirements.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Work Experience
- 1+ years Of inventory management experience (Required) and
- 1+ years Healthcare experience (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Intermediate computer skills (Required proficiency)
- Experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel & Powerpoint (Required proficiency)
- Experience with Outlook and/or experience with email applications in a professional setting (Preferred proficiency)
- Self-motivated, highly driven individual that can work independently (Required proficiency)
